A beautifully understated vintage Persian Gabbeh rug, hand-knotted in wool, featuring a soft natural ivory and oatmeal ground punctuated by small, scattered tribal motifs in muted red and green.
The composition is wonderfully restrained, with subtle tonal variations, irregular horizontal lines and a gently textured surface that celebrates the individuality of traditional hand-weaving.
The rug's generous proportions and neutral palette make it particularly versatile, lending itself equally well to contemporary, minimalist, rustic and Mediterranean interiors.
Finished with contrasting grey wool fringes, the piece retains its original Barcelona retailer's label on the reverse, identifying it as a Persian Gabbeh rug imported by Forghani, specialists in Persian and Oriental carpets.
