Item Description
An original large late 19th century French “Venetian mirror “ The raised cushion design to this sumptuous mirror has created a pleasing deep side profile. The large central mirror plate has a wide bevelled edge and is neatly framed by eight mirrored margins each one decorated with an etched design of trailing leaves and flowers. The etched margin panels are framed with narrow mirrored borders boasting dozens of tiny convex glass optics. There are one or two age related speckles here and there as one would expect considering its age and history but this only enhances its enormous appeal. Original pine backboards. Replaced hanging rings and steel wire for extra strength and support. Large octagonal Venetian cushion mirror circa 1890.
