An original mid-20th-century abstract oil painting on canvas. Signed 'Mary Armour' attributed to the eminent Scottish artist Mary Nicol Neill Armour (1902–2000).
The modernist work features an expressive, gestural arrangement of organic shapes in a palette of deep reds, muted greens, greys, and ochres. The canvas has been professionally re-stretched and is housed in a carved, period gesso frame with a weathered, grey-washed finish. Signed by the artist in the lower-right corner.
