LARGE FLAT WEAVE KILIM RUG
A bohemian rug from a country house on the English/Welsh border.
A wealth of geometric shapes that would have all had their specific meaning, hand woven wool using natural vegetable dyes.
Probably originating from central Anatolia, Turkey.
A heard thing to date specifically but it definitely has quite a bit of age to it and probably dates from the Early- Mid 20th Century period.
It is in good vintage condition and still usable, there is wear throughout including natural fading, worn through sections and some old and very charming repairs. One side is more faded than the other. It has an antique feel to the piece and we love the aesthetic.
Approximate measurements: 288cm x 160cm (9’ 5 1/2” x 5’ 3”).
