A George III period giltwood sofa in the Hepplewhite French taste. With later sprung upholstery, in good solid and useable condition. The finely carved and gilded legs taking direct inspiration from designs printed in the book ‘Household furniture in genteel taste for the year 1760’ which includes designs by Robert Manwaring, Thomas Johnson, William Ince and John Mayhew, and Thomas Chippendale.
