An 18th-century French faience plate from La Rochelle, decorated with a lush yellow-and-black tulip rising from a green stem. The flower sits in a subtly off-centre position, its open form rendered with elegant painterly brushstrokes. The edge is delicately shaped and the lip features further foliate and floral motifs in blue, black and green. A charming plate with a graceful floral decor.
