Item Description

An original work by British artist Mary Stork, created in 2004 as part of her Lone series.  Working with bold, expressive lines, Stork focused on the human figure, using charcoal and mixed media. The work is signed by the artist and dated. It is in its original white-painted wood frame.

Stork studied at the West of England College of Art before continuing at the Slade School of Fine Art. She later settled in West Cornwall, where she became a member of both the Penwith Society of Arts and the Newlyn Society of Artists.  Her figurative works are closely associated with the post-war Cornish art movement and are held in numerous private collections.
