Item Description

Large Early 20th Century English Scratch Built / Folk Art Ship Model

A highly decorative and exceptionally well hand-crafted example of an early 20th Century English folk art ship model. With lots of extra accessories as shown that would have at some point been fitted to this great nautical project. We have not tried to fit them as we believe a lot of the items maybe missing. Nevertheless, this object would make a great project of sorts or can be display just as it is. Each section is hand made and crafted from found objects. Section pieces of pine and old nails have been used to create the hull with some good detail inside of the frame as shown. The accessories include masts, rudder, fishing net with weights and fabric made floats, numerous yard arms, wooden ores, 3 brass shaped objects. With unreadable worn text at the rear and at the side the name of the vessel “Marie Louise”.

Size in inches: H 13” x W 37” x D 12”
Origin: English
Date: Early 20th Century
Condition: Aged

A solid object and the hull is in one piece, lots of age, worn surfaces, missing parts to this object photographed (A project if you want it restored). The ship does not stand alone so would need some sort of stand made to keep it upright. Rusty old nails in place and faded paint as shown.

Please review all the photos provided as part of this advert, close-up photos have been provided to show its condition of loss of surface detail and paper in more detail.

We strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase. A direct message usually takes 24 hours to answer.
