Item Description
An excellent 1930s British Art Deco ‘Streamline Moderne’ designice bucket craftedby renowned silversmiths William Suckling Ltd. Birmingham. Produced under their prime "Kingsway Plate" trademark, the piece features the prestigious "A1" grade designation, denoting the thickest, highest standard of commercial silver plating from the interwar period.
The design relies on the famous architectural geometry and machine-age symmetry, featuringa pristine, plain silver-plated body engineered to highlight the mirror-like reflections prized by Art Deco designers.
The piece is anchored by four sharply defined geometric bracket feet that elevate its silhouette, lending it a proud, structural stance. Flanking the body are twin geometric scrolled handles. The bucket is crowned by a magnificent stepped ziggurat lid, evocative of period skyscraper architecture, terminating in a flattened, concentric-circle finial designed to capture and scatter low-amplitude light.
An immaculate survivor of the British Art Deco movement, this piece seamlessly transitions from social history to a functional, high-end statement piece for the modern mixologist.
