Item Description
This is an absolutely exquisite and one of a kind French mid century lamp that is entirely created from alabaster. Its contemporary and unique form that resembles a mushroom is exceptional, giving it a minimal sculptural appeal of outstanding beauty and elegance. The alabaster is mainly white with stunning veining that comes alive with a sensational effect when the lamp is switched on. Alabaster is a translucent stone, so when lit from within it creates a magnificent ambience and atmosphere. The lamp measures about 42 x 37.5 x 37.5 cm or approximately 16.5 x 14.7 x 14.7 inches and it is in great vintage condition and exactly as I discovered it in recently in the South of France. There is only a minuscule scratch on the top which hardly takes away any of its true beauty and splendour today. For the full condition please refer to the images!
PS. The lamp uses one lightbulb and was recently rewired for electricity. The top is free standing on its base, making it extremely easy to replace the bulb. The electricity cable with a switch has a European plug. If needed for the USA or the UK, only the plug would need to be replaced.
