Item Description
This is a fabulous antique French pair of giant lion's paws that date from the 18th century. Once they were the base of columns that belonged to a convent close to Avignon, in the South of France. They are masterfully hand carved from stone and come with a wonderful patina created by the passage of time. Each paw measures about 17 x 18.5 x 22.5 cm or approximately 6.7 x 7.3 x 8.8 inches. They are highly decorative treasures that could be used in interiors as well as exterior spaces such as gardens, terraces, conservatories etc. This is a fabulous treasure with a lot of character and exactly as I discovered it.
