An antique carved boxwood cherub decorative wall hanging dating to circa 1650.
Crafted in boxwood, this renaissance style sculpture depicts a detailed handcarved cherub or putti beautifully hung from a metal chain.
More than 370 years of age has instilled the wood with a timeworn barewood finish.
This unique way this cherub is displayed makes it a charming yet intriguing decorative piece, perfect for an interior display.

CONDITION REPORT
Good structural condition. Various historic losses, carvings and repaired elements. There is an area of filler to one thigh. Fingers in one hand made up in filler. On the other hand fingers are lost. There is a piece missing from the shoulder area. The feet have been recarved and replaced. There is an area of filler to one of the wings. Suspended from a single chain (1m long).
