Item Description

A large and imposing carved pine Georgian style fire surround, circa 1790 with later alterations. Designed in the architectural style, this antique fireplace features large scrolling brackets to the jambs and repeating acanthus leaf motifs to the frieze with blank tablet to the centre. Completed with a stained finish that give the pine its handsome medium wood tone, this reclaimed fire surround is an impressive chimneypiece for traditional interiors as well as a character feature of more modern spaces. ADDITIONAL DIMENSIONS Opening Height: 107 cm (42.12 in)Opening Width: 113 cm (44.48 in)Base width (outer foot block to outer foot block): 162.5 cm (63.97 in) CONDITION REPORT Good structural condition. Carved elements date from the Georgian era with later extensive alterations including new foot blocks and shelf. Stained pine with no surface finish.
