Item Description
A reclaimed George V bronze bell marked GR, salvaged from the former RAF station Horsham St Faith, in Norfolk.
George V's (1910-1936) reign was during the time of the establishment of the Royal Air Force in 1918, when the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) were merged in response to the events of WWI.
This striking English bell was once used by RAF soldiers at the station, which was operational from 1939 to 1963, but was officially opened in June, 1940, as a bomber station during WWII.
This striking English bell comes with its original clapper so it can still be used or appreciated as a decorative piece by whomever owns it next.
