Item Description
A reclaimed heraldic stained glass window circa 1914, commemorating the Lord Mayor of Norwich, Arthur Michael Samuel.
Born in 1872, Samuel, 1st Baron Mancroft, was a British politician and served as Lord Mayor of Norwich from 1912 to 1913.
This stained glass window depicts the Norwich coat of arms – a passant, guardant lion below a castle – within a green foliage wreath. This is ornamented with white Tudor roses and royal symbols including crowns, a sword hilt and a sceptre, reflecting the monarchy’s long-standing connection with Norfolk.
It is an interesting piece of English history, perfect for adding heritage to Norwich-based property or alternatively, a British collector’s piece. We are also selling another panel with a matching theme under Stock No. 36203.
