Item Description
An original Jacobean style wrought and cast iron fire grate on dogs by Thomas Elsley (stamped), British manufacturers of cast iron decorative works between 1882 and 1905.
This antique fire grate with two accompanying andirons pairs practicality with style, offering a generously sized basket for burning large logs. Its signature feature is its Tudor/Jacobean style fire back, ornately cast with a royal figure riding a horse-drawn chariot.
Width variable depending on how wide you space fire dogs – min. 102 cm (40.15 in) to max. 110 cm (43.30 in)
Condition Report
Good structural condition. Stamped to reverse of fireback. Black graphite finish. Has a replacement lower fireback and two replaced bars in the burning grill. Transports as 3 pieces.
