Item Description
A fine late George III period rosewood writing/ library table by Solomon & Brown, Castle St. Long Acre London . The cross- banded edge enclosing a distressed marble blue hide inset, which appears to be the original.
Comprising three drawers and three faux drawers to the reverse ,framed by recessed panelled corners leading to elegant turned and reeded legs fitted with the original cup casters. Retaining an attractive honey colour throughout and in good condition. The brass knobs old replacement. Circa 1820
N.B.
The central drawer bears the faint imprint of the Solomon stamp which has been partially obscured by a repair to the beading. It is also stamped 101 Wardour St. Soho which relates to James Winter & Sons, Restorers & Cabinet makers founded 1823
