Item Description

A fine Georgian lap desk or writing slope, rosewood veneers over mahogany, cross banded with rosewood and an ebony line.

The top is veneered with a design of perspective cubes made up of many different specimens of both exotic and indigenous woods. Within is a newly lined leather writing surface. Beneath one flap is ribbon to hold papers, and beneath the other are three tiny drawers concealed behind a satinwood panel of six false drawers. Bound all round with brass and fitted with a Turners Patent lock and flush fitted campaign handles.
