Item Description

A William IV rosewood tripod occasional table, the circular top with a hand-worked glass micro-beadwork panel depicting a shaded floral wreath on a vivid turquoise ground enclosed by a crossbanded rosewood border, set over a crisp, bobbin-turned column, all raised on a cabriole tripod base anchored by a turned pendant drop finial.

The bobbin pillar and striking palette of the beadwork top make this table an exceptional visual punctuation mark for a drawing room or study. It serves beautifully as a dedicated wine or lamp table positioned beside a period armchair, with its bespoke protective glass panel ensuring the delicate 19th-century beadwork remains entirely practical for everyday use.

Very good antique condition, with light surface wear consistent with age. The glass beadwork remains bright and largely intact, with some localised losses and minor fraying to the outer corded perimeter. The solid rosewood column has a few historic, stable shrinkage splits and a well-aged loss to one lower bobbin edge. The glass top has a tiny edge chip. Structurally sound, stable and ready to place.

English, circa 1830.
