The composition is rendered in a vivid Mediterranean palette of dark green, ochre and blue, evoking the warmth of the light, the refreshing shade of the trees and the mineral tones of the landscape. Captivating brushwork lends the scene movement, with fine black lines animating the elongated branches of the trees, set in contrast to the broader, painterly passages of colour describing the hill and sky.
