Item Description
An elegant late 19th or early 20th Century French wrought iron guéridon table.
Dating from the turn of the 20th Century, retaining its original marble top. The circular delicately veined marble surface s set within a forged iron rim and raised on an elegant base of scrolling iron supports that converge at a central ring. The sinuous lines of the base create a sculptural silhouette, characteristic of late 19th Century French garden and café furniture. The iron frame displays a rich, naturally aged patina developed over time, enhancing the hand-worked character of the piece. The restrained palette of dark iron and pale marble allows the table to sit comfortably in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Versatile in scale, it functions equally well as a side table, garden table or occasional guéridon in a sitting room, conservatory or terrace setting.
