Item Description
A striking pair of 19th Century French ebonised side chairs.
With elegant fan shaped backrests and charming decorative Chinoiserie detail. The backs are beautifully hand-painted with fan motifs, birds and floral decoration and gilt accents against a black ground. On slender turned legs and cross stretchers. The seats have been newly upholstered in antique linen with double piping.
With the Aesthetic Movement influence, these pretty side chairs are ideal for use as bedroom or hall chairs.
In good antique condition. Original painted surfaces with age-related wear and patina.
