Item Description
Very Large Old 'Repoussé' Brass or Copper Coffee Bean Dispenser which came from a French Café. but was in fact made in PRAHA (Prague.) in Bohemia ( later Czechoslovakia) during the later days of the Austrian Empire. when Prague was an advanced manufacturing city in all things decorative and a centre of the 'Aesthetic Movemernt'.
A small oval shaped brass maker's plaque on the bottom shute identifies the maker as V.KINDERMANN AMLER- C.K..DVORNI KLEMPER - PRAHA
Dating between 1890 and 1910, and surmounted by a bronze Eagle, the dispenser is in interesting unrestored condition with tarnishing .. As a London dealer I would historically have had the piece restored to its magnificence but nowadays impossible to find a metal polisher in the city , so offered 'As Is' in its tarnished state .!
Measures 44 inches high x 20 diameter (112 x 51 cms). Circa 1890-1910 From Prague in Bohemia (Austrian Empire) via France !
