Item Description

Original traditional hand-blown glass 'double ball' seltzer or soda siphon clad in a decorative wired jacket, which comes from a bar in late 19th C. Paris. The wiring on the siphon was to give protection in case the siphon exploded after too vigorous shaking. Engraving on the pewter neck says ' Véritable Seltzogene - 'D.Fevre' Paris. In excellent condition and theoretically still useable as a soda siphon today. Measuring 16.5" tall x 6" diameter (lower ball), circa 1870 - 1890. From Paris, France.
