Item Description
Fine Quality Victorian Burr Walnut Three Tier Whatnot Table
An elegant late 19th-century Victorian three tier burr walnut whatnot of fine quality and refined proportions. The rectangular top is arranged over three identical tiers, all in beautifully figured burr walnut. Below is a single drawer with turned walnut knob handles, supported by tall, finely turned and carved columns, and raised on stylish feet terminating in small brass castors.
In excellent original condition, this versatile piece may be used as a display stand, music stand, étagère or traditional whatnot. It retains its original colour, patina and deep polish, displaying the warm glow and character that only well preserved 19th-century furniture can offer. English, circa 1880.
Structurally sound and in superb original order, this is a clear example of top tier Victorian cabinetmaking. Both a practical storage solution and a striking decorative feature, this Victorian burr walnut whatnot will enhance any interior that values fine 19th-century craftsmanship, individuality and timeless style.
