Item Description

Stunning Quality 20th Century George III Style Mahogany Partners Writing Table by William Tillman

A superb 20th century Chippendale George III style mahogany partners writing table by the renowned maker William Tillman.
This elegant desk features a rectangular top with its original, high quality brown/burgundy tooled leather writing surface, offering both comfort and sophistication. Each side of the desk is fitted with three beaded drawers (six in total), including a larger central frieze drawer flanked by two fitted drawers on each face, providing generous and practical storage.
The drawers retain their original brass swan neck handles and working locks, accompanied by two original keys. The writing table stands on chamfered square section legs, enriched by pierced fretwork ears at the hips, giving the piece a refined decorative flourish and a distinctly Georgian character.
Crafted in England circa 1960, this partners writing table is made from beautifully figured mahogany with a rich, warm brown patina. The depth of grain and quality of finish are typical of William Tillman’s finest work. It remains in superb original condition and retains its maker’s label inside one of the drawers, confirming its authenticity.
Blending period inspired George III elegance with mid 20th century craftsmanship, this stunning William Tillman writing table is ideal as a statement desk in a study, library, home office, or drawing room. It offers both presence and practicality, making it a perfect choice for any refined interior.
