Item Description
A charming antique Victorian white ironstone rectangular dish decorated with a very cute Sardine fish to the central part of the lid.
In really lovely condition, as can be seen in the pictures, the dish itself is integral to the base, which is gilt edged in gold to the whole of the rim including a little bow design to either scalloped end.
The lid which sits well, is also gilt edged. The centre square which is slightly raised, is adorned with the Sardine, which is decorated with hand painted detail. The body is in various shades of pink showing the scales off perfectly. The head, tail and fin are in grey with highlights picked out in a darker shade.
A good size at approx 24cm wide, it would make a great butter dish and even a lovely trinket or jewellery container.
