Item Description
An exceptional late 19th Century glass pharmacists jar made by Lynch & Co, London. c.1890.
The hand blown chemists jar features a finely executed reverse‑painted and gilt cartouche, flanked by two classical figures centered on a crest bearing the inscription ‘Incorporated by Royal Charter’. The maker’s mark sits below, with ‘Rhubarb’ carried in the decorative scroll to indicate its original contents.
This oversized and imposing piece also retains its original brightly gilt domed glass lid - often absent from other found examples. Altogether, a highly decorative and increasingly sought‑after example of late‑Victorian apothecary display.
