Arts And Crafts Lantern With Vaseline Glass (24001)

An original arts and crafts lantern.  The styling is simple with a peaked canopy below a hanging hoop, simple scrolls to the sides and underneath.   A tiny star cut out detail can be seen on the upper ring beneath the canopy.

CONDITION REPORT.  The brass frame is showing some signs of wear.  Particularly the peaked canopy has some faint surface cracks which do not weaken the piece in any way  (as this central section is cast brass) but are visible on close inspection.  The Vaseline glass cylinder is original to the piece and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

DIMENSIONS

Height from bottom of lantern to top of hanging hoop 50cm.  Width 20cm at widest point. Weight 2.2kg

Wired with approx. 1 metre of  black braided flex.  Fitted with a new bayonet fitting (size B22). PAT tested prior to dispatch.

All our antique lighting is restored in our workshop in Melbourne, South Derbyshire.  We welcome you to visit and choose an unrestored item so that you can customise that piece with the colour cable of your choice.

Supplied with 1 metre of  matching suspension chain and a hooked ceiling plate.
