Item Description
This floor lamp features three fine rods of black-lacquered wrought iron rising in a bundle from a central ball, each carrying a light at a different height, topped with a cylindrical shade of a natural shade. The tripod base, punctuated with a second sphere, deploys three radiating feet ending in small brass balls. This light, graphic composition — tapered rods, punctuating balls, tiered lights — falls within the style of Jean Royère, whose black metal and brass light fixtures of the 1950s count among the most poetic creations of post-war French design. The attribution remains stylistic, but the spirit is undeniably that of this inventive period. Condition report: Good overall condition. Even black lacquer, shade remade to measure. Electricity checked by an electrician. A sculptural floor lamp that will softly light a corner of a drawing room or a bedroom.
