Item Description
Mid 20th C Teak Dining Table And Six Chairs By Mcintosh Of Kirkcaldy
A mid 20th Century teak dining suite designed by Tom Robertson for Mcintosh of Kirkcaldy in the 1960s. Comprising the lesser seen T3 double extending dining table and six chairs, 2 being “carvers”. A highly stylish set perfect for daily use and those larger gatherings of friends and family with the extensions.
The design from Tom Robertson is first rate with some lovely mid century lines and great use of the teak in both the chairs and the 6 matching chairs.
Condition is good - all pieces are structurally sound with minor signs of use. As is often the case there is some colour variation between the two drawleafs and the butterfly extensions, this happens over time; likely in this case that the leaves have never been used. We have sensible day to day wear to the table and one of the back legs on one chair as a historic crack which has been mended. The chairs are upholstered in the original grained black vinyl which is in good condition - we are able to offer reupholstery if you wish at cost of £350 plus VAT for the set and you would require 4 metres of fabric which we can assist with sourcing.
A super Mid Century set from Mcintosh c1960.
