Item Description
A fine set of fourteen Regency Period grained, decorated and parcel-gilt dining chairs, including four open armchairs. Each with a tablet toprail decorated with a Classical scene, above a turned splat and flanked by scrolled stiles, the armchairs with scrolled arms, above a caned seat, on sabre legs, redecorated. More pictures available on request.
Each classical scene different. This large set of English, painted period dining chairs, recently reupholstered with feather cushions covered in Leopard Stripe Green by Sybil Colefax & John Fowler.
Provenance:
Bought from Denys Wrey Antiques, Sloane Street, in the early 1960s, and by descent.
