Item Description
Splendid early 19th.c. French Empire style brass mounted mahogany dressing table c.1815. Original 21" x 25" oval mirror plate in a flame mahogany veneered frame with crisp brass moulding to the inner edge. Angle adjustable on a curved yoke topped with brass tazza finials and with small brass flower head roundels applied. Original white marble table top (height 30½") with a very slightly raised edge to stop things rolling off the sides. Flame mahogany veneered base with a useful drawer in the front edge. Raised on shaped front legs with large brass acanthus mounts to the knees, brass roundels at both sides and large brass claw feet. Square column back legs with moulded detail. Open plinth base, shaped to allow space for someone's feet when sat at the table. Raised on moulded feet with the original brass castors recessed below. Some tarnish to the mirror (which could be replaced if preferred). Otherwise excellent condition, restored, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied for the drawer.
