Item Description
Very smart 19th.c. French Empire style console table c.1860. A little larger than many we see of this style. Black marble top flecked with thousands of tiny white fossils within the stone. Over a single long frieze drawer with symmetrically arranged flame mahogany veneers to the drawer front and oak drawer linings. Tapering column front legs, also mahogany veneered and with good quality chased brass mounts top and bottom. Open plinth base with projecting front corners and veneered in a particularly well figured mahogany curl. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
