Item Description
Mid 19th.c. French mahogany wardrobe or armoire c.1860. Two door wardrobe, originally for hanging (retaining some of the original peg hooks inside), fitted with four shelves (internal depth 13½"), over a single drawer in the plinth. Highly figured flame mahogany veneers laid to create a striking symmetrical pattern across the front of the piece. Deep cornice with reeded moulding and a shaped and crossbanded frieze, doors with attractively shaped surrounds to the panels and carved foliate detail to the outer corners top and bottom. Solid mahogany sides and a crossbanded plinth raised on the original feet. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
Note the wardrobe can be easily dismantled into flat sections, ideal for rooms with awkward access.
