Late 19th.c. marble bust of Cordelia the favourite daughter of King Lear who disinherits and banishes her after her honesty in refusing to lavish fake praise upon him. Head and shoulders length bust of Cordelia as a young woman with her hair tied and wearing a necklace (possibly with the head of Lear at the centre?). Carved in white marble, titled at the base.
