Item Description
Small oak linen press with drawers c.1830. Just 32" wide, built in two pieces. Oak frame press with the board adjusted up and down on a long carved screw with a removable handle. Eight loose press boards in softwood (width between the uprights 26", depth 18") to allow multiple layers to be pressed at once. Over a chest of three drawers with the original brass handles and escutcheons. Moulded swan neck pediment to the top and a moulded detail to the base of the upper section. Canted corners to the base with fluted detail. Shaped bracket feet, also canted and fluted at he front. Oak sides, drawer linings and backboards. Old worm holes to the press boards, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
