Item Description
Pair of bentwood armchairs chairs by Thonet, the celebrated inventors of bentwood furniture, c.1900. Simple steamed beechwood frames with backrest and seat panels featuring elaborate pressed decoration. Shaped armrests on curving supports. Legs swept slightly outwards for stability and joined with a hoop stretcher. Paper labels for Thonet of Wien (Vienna) to the underside. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
