Item Description
Unusual pair of small Syrian corner armchairs c.1920. Walnut frames with overhanging armrests on turned supports and with mashrabiya panels inlaid with mother of pearl. 17" square sprung seats (height 16") freshly upholstered in a striking damask patterned cloth. Over mashrabiya work panels and shaped and pierced aprons to all four sides. Raised on ebonised turned bun feet. Missing one of the little turned spindles from the rear of one chair. Otherwise very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
