Item Description
A very modern look to this vintage silver 1964 design Bjørns Lykkebat (Ship of Good Fortune) pendant and collar by renowned Norwegian designer Bjørn Sigurd Østern for David-Andersen Company (founded in 1876 in Oslo and the best known jewellers in Norway of the 19th century) for whom he was a lead designer between 1961-73 and again in 1974-1985.
The pendant is set with an Amazonite green / blue cabochon and is presented in it's original box, created to hold and protect it perfectly, hence it's very good condition. The back of the pendant bears the D-A hallmark along with the others you would expect to find on a quality silver piece. The INV. B.S.Ø stands for Inventor Bjørn Sigurd Østern.
The collar (torque or neckring as some call it) has a lightly hammered surface and is stamped D-A NORWAY and STERLING 925 S bearing the 3 crowns and S hallmark. It comes in it's own fabric tie bag.
It sits lightly and comfortably on the neck and stands out due it's size and captivating design. You can also of course use the collar to wear other suitable pendants with, so a good practical and useful piece.
Total weight is 35g. Pendant height is 5.2cm.
