Item Description
Was very happy to come across this modernist brooch as it is difficult to find jewellery by Norwegian mid 20th century designer John Stamnæss goldsmith's workshop. This piece is attributed as no confirmed marks, but investigations bear out this brooch to be by this designer, whose company's inception dates back to 1892.
Made in silver gilt with black and white enamel of which he is known to have produced brooches in, it is stamped to the reverse 925S. Of very good quality and finish and in great original condition. A very wearable piece and a good size at approx 6cm x 2.5cm, the enamel work is completely intact with no chips or damage and the pin in very good working order.
An ideal brooch for adding a touch of interest to a dark coloured suit or dress, using as a scarf pin and for combining with other black or diamond jewellery.
