Item Description

Circa 1780-85 French a siamoise (cotton/linen) pair of pelmets with scalloped edges blockprinted in a design called 'La Cornue Fleurie'.A lovely pattern of large-scale flowers alternating with stripes of scrolling ribbons and scattered flowers. This piece is in a strong and saturated madder red with touches of pale saffron yellow.Manufacturer 'Petitpierre Freres', Nantes.In a very good and as found antique condition, these pelmets have not been used.
