Circa 1785 French from Manufacturer Oberkampf à Jouy a design called 'Quinconce de Losanges Fleuris/Flowered Diamonds'.Stylised flowers against a leafy patterned ground enclosed in a loose diamond shape and blockprinted in madder red,soft saffron yellow and brown.The reverse two 19th century French floral and patterned stripe designs.A wonderful documentIn an as found antique conditionthe piecehas been cut from a larger quilt so there areraw edges on both sides.With extensive splits and small scattered holes throughout.
