Beautiful set of 3 Framed antique herb specimens taken from the private collection of acclaimed French bryologist PT Husnot, these are from his private collection of specimens and have been beautifully framed, ready to hang.
Pierre Tranquille Husnot (1840-1929) was a prominent bryologist as well as being a farmer and mayor of Cahan. He traveled between 1860 and 1876 in England, the West Indies, the Canaries, France. He botanizes in the Pyrenees, the Jura, the Alps . Founder of Bryological Review in 1874, he was the editor until 1928, when he gives the load to Pierre Allorge, then to the Museum. Husnot published in 1890 a flora of Bryophytes of France, "Muscologia gallica - Descriptions and figures of mosses of France and neighboring countries", still used today.
