This is an antique sarcophagus tea caddy. An English, rosewood loose leaf tea case dating to the William IV period, circa 1835. A beautifully proportioned piece with fine detailing, rich tones and elegant Georgian revival design.

Satinwood stringing provides light contrast, enhancing the bold outline
Opens to reveal two lidded tea compartments with a central mixer recess

Each lid fitted with a circular bone pull, typical of the period style
