Item Description
This is a pair of vintage John Haig whisky decanters. An English, glass and hallmarked silver Scotch vessel, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.
A fascinating original pair with delightful visual appeal; period-correct sets feature the named John Haig decanter for hosting the eponymous whisky, and the second, unmarked bottle would be used for holding water, or other spirits.
Presenting a desirable aged patina and in good order
Distinctive three-sided 'dimple' glass a Haig visual hallmark
Sterling silver filigree frames sit neatly around the form
Frames enhanced with engraved thistle motif, being the Scottish national flower
Silver stoppers fit neatly within each rim, with tight-fitting cork
Hallmarks upon the stoppers for Birmingham Medal Co, and the Birmingham assay office
Alongside the Lion Rampant sits the date letter H for 1932
This is a superb original pair of vintage John Haig whisky decanters, being period correct and beautifully presented in Sterling silver over unusual, three-sided glass. A treat for the collector, or enjoyer of Scotch. Delivered ready for the home.
