This is a small vintage Hamadan rug. A Persian, woollen hall or prayer mat, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950.

Pleasingly geometric small rug
Displays a desirable aged patina and in overall clean order
Signs of minimal wear under close inspection and very light sun fading
Predominantly cream coloured, woollen ground
Dark blue and red hues help decorate the motif and patterns

Pair of diamond medallions with central gul
Leaves within trapezoid insets to the corners and to both sides of the gul
Arrowhead pattern border runs the length of the mat
Secondary border contrasts along the width
Bands of tassels to each end with slight loss to one corner
