Item Description
This is a stunning and substantial Victorian pollard oak wardrobe.
Made from richly figured pollard oak, this beautifully grained piece displays an exquisite depth of colour and a glowing patina.
The wardrobe is presented in excellent condition throughout.
Designed with practicality as well as style in mind, the wardrobe is constructed in six individual sections, allowing for ease of transportation and installation — an important feature for a piece of this size. The front features four doors framed with elegant mouldings, enclosing a versatile and well-organised interior. Behind the central pair of doors is a bank of sliding linen trays, these are easily removed and could be replaced with a hanging rail if preferred. Below this central section are three full-width drawers, with turned wooden knobs and offering ample storage.
To the left-hand side, the compartment reveals a full-height hanging space complete with original brass hooks, again a rail could be fitted if preferred. On the right-hand side, a shelved section offers further flexible storage, ideal for folded clothing, shoes, or boxed items.
The wardrobe sits on a sturdy base and is crowned with a well-proportioned cornice.
An exceptional example of English cabinetry in pollard oak, it offers both beauty and utility and is ready to be used and admired for generations to come.
