Item Description
A beautiful stone set Victorian Gothic Revival silver-gilt chalice. By Carl Christopher Krall (1844-1923) Hallmarked for London 1892.
This fine chalice Rises on a scalloped hexafoil base with a diaper border and chased foliate decoration above, leading to a heavily chased knop with intricate detail and hardstone cabochon border, with hemispherical bowl.
Carl Christopher Krall was a German silversmith, who created almost exclusively religious items. Krall traded from Regent Street, London.
Chalice in very good condition, showing light marks to the gilding and a small area of rubbing loss to part of the chased foliage. Some light rubbing to the hallmarks. The underside of the bowl shows minimal opening to the stem.
Weight 153 grams.
