Item Description
A Postmodern fired enamel painting with gold applied highlights on flat glass. Title, 'Grass' 1987. By Antonie Jankovcová - Czech, 1943-)
Antonie Jankovcová is known for her glass “hanging paintings,” many of which were produced during the 1970s–1980s period of Czech studio glass experimentation. She trained at the renowned Glassmaking School in Železný Brod and later at the Academy of Art in Prague, both institutions central to the development of 20th‑century Czech glass and applied arts.
The enamel pigments and elements are kiln-fired so that they permanently fuse with the glass surface, creating a raised or sculptural texture.
It is in very good condition, there are no issues to the enamel painting, the brass lacquered frame shows some oxidation in places with age. The glass will show reflections.
The work has the artist's etched initials.
The verso with original label and documented title present and signed by the artist. The label reads: “Fired painting on flat glass executed with precious metals and enamels.
Firing: 600 °C". Along with the Dilo state art‑distribution label and Czech Fine Arts Fund in Liberec.
UK delivery included.
